Easy Baked Spaghetti Recipe:

This recipe for Baked Spaghetti is a must-try if you're searching for a weeknight meal that's really simple and mostly hands-off. You only need to combine the ingredients in the baking dish and let them alone for the duration of the hour-long baking process, stirring the mixture twice. It's that simple!

While many recipes for spaghetti bake ask for pre-cooking the spaghetti, I chose to lengthen the baking time and add a lot of liquid (chicken broth) to ensure that the dry spaghetti strands truly cooked in the oven while soaking up all the wonderful broth taste. It takes less time to prepare and produces an equally fantastic product, so it works out well for me. Additionally, there will be fewer dishes to clean!

Ingredients Needed:

To make this quick, cheesy baked spaghetti, you just need a few basic ingredients and a few seasonings.

  • Uncooked spaghetti strands are added to the casserole dish.
  • Marinara sauce : Grab some at the store or make a homemade marinara sauce.
  • Onion & Garlic : for amazing flavor and aroma.
  • Spices : The sauce is seasoned with salt, pepper, and Italian spice.
  • Chicken broth : As adding flavor and removing the need for pre-cooking, the liquid cooks the pasta while it is baking. Use the specified quantity, making careful to properly coat the pasta.
  • Mozzarella cheese : To ensure that this spaghetti bake is cheesy scrumptious in every bite, top with cheese.
  • Parsley : Optional garnish.

Are Special Noodles Required for Baked Spaghetti?

This spaghetti bake doesn't call for any special noodles. Any standard spaghetti noodle brand will do. During baking, the additional broth cooks the noodles in the pan.

Preparation :

This spaghetti bake is incredibly simple. To bake, simply put the ingredients in a baking dish. Just one pot needs to be cleaned! Never has spaghetti been so simple.

  1. Combine the ingredients: In a baking dish that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, add the dry spaghetti. Olive oil, onion, garlic, and marinara should be sprinkled on top. Over the top, pour the chicken broth. To keep the pasta from sticking together, thoroughly combine.
  2. Bake : Bake for 25 minutes while foil is covered. After giving everything a good toss, bake for an additional 20 minutes with the foil still on. After taking off the foil, giving the mixture one more toss, adding mozzarella, and baking uncovered for 15 minutes.
  3. Enjoy!

Can I Use My Favorite Spaghetti Sauce?

Absolutely, yes. Since I added seasonings, I opted to use marinara, although any spaghetti sauce would have worked in this situation. Try our homemade spaghetti sauce if you like meat sauces; it's fantastic. It's crucial to add enough stock so that the spaghetti cooks while being baked.

Serving Suggestions :

The same sides that go with a conventional spaghetti supper can be offered with this spaghetti bake. My usual fare is some hot, handmade garlic bread with a great side salad. If you're in a rush and don't feel like preparing garlic bread, some crusty bread will do.

How to Store Leftovers :

  • Storing leftovers : For up to three days, leftover baked spaghetti can be kept in the refrigerator when covered and kept in an airtight container.
  • Reheat : Individual portions can be reheated in the microwave, or the entire pan can be baked covered. A splash of broth might be added to keep it from drying out.
  • To freeze : Allow it to completely cool before wrapping it twice in foil and plastic wrap to prevent freezer burn. For up to two months, freeze. Reheat the entire casserole or individual servings after defrosting in the refrigerator for an overnight period. Alternately, take off the plastic wrap and bake straight from frozen, increasing baking time until thoroughly heated.
